Winds from beaches
and jungles
And mountains
and deserts
Blow my hair into my eyes,
allowing me to blame
Something else for my tears
of remembrance and pride
And shame and disappointment,
not to list to the side of
Joy at reunion of souls beside those
markers forever white, forever
Rowed upon the waves of our struggling
for space and breath and earth to grow
And lines to divide and holes to rejoin us all
when the bell tolls and the harpsong times
The march towards the places where we will all
Sit down together and rest in starlight,
Gazing towards a light we can only remember
Until that dawn without lines.
A most instructive and comforting Veteran’s Day Weekend wished to you all!

One of my favorite lines:
‘Rowed upon the waves of our struggling
for space and breath and earth to grow’
A poem of reflection and remembrance, tinged with sadness of course, but also hope and faith with the journeying from earth to heaven.
The ending lines are prayerlike…beautiful.
Nov 15, 2011 @ 01:43:15
Bardess, you won my poetic heart by recognizing the prayer of the ending lines. Truly, I pray constantly to one day see NO MORE LINES in the ONE GREAT LIGHT shining on us all!

Sometimes we need the wind to blow through our hair and through our souls to touch our hearts and cleanse our spirits~ so that we can then take in the new fresh breath it brings so that we can blow out all the cobwebs from within..
