8-Mar-12: 1 Peter 2:4-10

4 Come to him, a living stone, though rejected by mortals yet chosen and precious in God’s sight, and

5 like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people, in order that you may proclaim the mighty acts of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

10 Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people;once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

“………..and you say we are strong enough build on?”

“Hurry now, scurry now, oh ye pokey, proddy critterly ones!”

“March down through the rocks and blocks and tick-tocks here now”

So did Old Crow and Crookeye and Ugly Bird did call them in tones

To scramble and tumble and speed on their way without call to bow.

“Much use will ye be cross yon deep canyoned raging stream!

“So good will ye be to hold up the road to cross that wilding blue!”

“What mean ye, we not be strong, we not be long, we just light beam!”

“Why, know ye not, ye are made strong as these rocks by His grace to true!”

The more I read the more I get out of it. For God has laid the eternal word of creation into the stone.
Simon, whom I will call Peter (petras) the rock upon which I will build my church.

“What mean ye, we not be strong, we not be long, we just light beam!”

This seems to me to be the key line, Granbee. As usual the language spills down the page in a jumble of dancing words.

    • granbee
      Mar 10, 2012 @ 23:24:01

Gotta luv ya, Thomas! Yes, I could not resist having my words tumble down the page to “picture” those critterly friends tumbling down from the “high” they were just on so peaceful–we must continue the journey with energy, you know! Love it that you picked up on that line–it was one of my favorites during the writing of this post!

“Why, know ye not, ye are made strong as these rocks by His grace to true!” This line resonated with me, Rose, as our faith strengthens along this blessed journey~

      Mar 10, 2012 @ 23:25:00

Yes, our faith does grow the more we travel into the Light, as directed from above, often unquestioningly! We are the building blocks of His Kingdom on earth!

Even the Rocks are alive with the light of love.. and within each of us is that same Light.. for we are made up of the same… WE are ALL one, we are all Light!.. and we shall keep shining to keep out those shadows… As we walk our paths of illumination.. Love and Blessings sent. xx

      Mar 10, 2012 @ 23:26:10

Dear Sue, we are all light and all one as long as we CHOOSE to do so! Let us continue in our chosen quest, our obedient quest, to move more and more into the Light and closer and closer to each other!

Sometimes it is so hard to know that we can stand up strongly with the cornerstone.

“What mean ye, we not be strong, we not be long, we just light beam!”

We just light beam…so simple and yet we must remind ourselves everyday!

    • granbee
      Mar 17, 2012 @ 22:44:24

Light beams are the strongest beams–they are eternal! We must remind ourselves of this truly immortal part of ourselves constantly, as you so rightly say, dear bardess! Thank you for such helpful commentary!
