17-Mar-12: John 3:1-13
Now there was a Pharisee named Nicodemus, a leader of the Jews. 2 He came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God; for no one can do these signs that you do apart from the presence of God.” 3 Jesus answered him, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above.” 4 Nicodemus said to him, “How can anyone be born after having grown old? Can one enter a second time into the mother’s womb and be born?” 5 Jesus answered, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit. 6 What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not be astonished that I said to you, ‘You must be born from above.’ 8 The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” 9 Nicodemus said to him, “How can these things be?” 10 Jesus answered him, “Are you a teacher of Israel, and yet you do not understand these things?
11 “Very truly, I tell you, we speak of what we know and testify to what we have seen; yet you do not receive our testimony. 12 If I have told you about earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you about heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.
“……………..and you say the light and healing we have now is still not the BEST PART?”
“Oh, Hoosie-Raysie, Oh Glee and Bee and Tee-up to glory for ussies,” Butterfly buzzed!
“Oh, Wowsie-Bowsie, Wonders-are-ussies”, woofed Ol’ Cross-Eyed Sheepdog!
“Oh, strongsies are ussies, all smoothy-outy now be,” crooned Stumpy and Spottedy and Littley cuzzed.
“Oh, look here, look there, no more cutlings or darklings, nowhere!” shined out Crookeye from bog.
“Wait, settle ye here, sit ye there, calm ye hearts and souls, dear critters,” croaked Old Crow.
“Poke out ye ear, stick forth your snout, stretch out yon arm and leg,” advised Ugly Bird.
“Listen, hush, be still, all brothers and sisters in hoof and toe and claw,” whistled Bluesey Fly in blow.
“Know ye not, scan ye not, feel ye not, this balm and this light just tiny speck of yet-to-come Light and Love in Word.”

Oh, Hoosie-Raysie indeed! What a wonderful life.

Life eternal with all healing and all light, forever and ever–sure IS wonderful, Terri! Thanks!
Mar 18, 2012 @ 02:35:17
Rose! It is a wonderful passage, both your choice of scripture and your collection of animals all looking to the light. I love the message of the wind in the words of Jesus. Very inspirational.
Mar 19, 2012 @ 22:34:54
Thanks, Peter–yes, I thought the message in the wind was an effective metaphor for how I often experience Jesus “speaking” to me! Bless you, dear Peter, for such constant encouragement here!

Mar 19, 2012 @ 22:35:30
You got it, got it, got it, sweet willowdot!
Mar 19, 2012 @ 02:10:05
Yep. I have to remind myself to “listen, hush, and be still” ’cause whatever I’m fretting over will come in due time. I can’t be working up my pressure on critter-like folk and matters. 🙂
Mar 19, 2012 @ 22:36:33
Waiting, being still, keeping awe-filled silence is difficult for all of us, dear Tots: but so very worth the effort! Thanks so much for your wonderful feedback!
Mar 19, 2012 @ 11:26:52
P.S. Remember that horrible bumper sticker that I reblogged the post about? Well, the seller of said bumper sticker had to shut it down due to pressure from consumers. Sometimes the white hats win. 🙂
Mar 19, 2012 @ 22:37:55
Thanks for letting me know this, Terri! How encourgaging, just like the suspension of dear Rush, you know!
Mar 19, 2012 @ 11:36:22
Wonderful — simply wonderful!!
“Know ye not, scan ye not, feel ye not, this balm and this light just tiny speck of yet-to-come Light and Love in Word.”

YOU are what is wonderful, Sister Becca–always so encouraging and supportive! You picked out the lines I considered to be the center of my meditation on this Lenten Journey scripture selection!
Mar 22, 2012 @ 10:20:12
“Know ye not, scan ye not, feel ye not, this balm and this light just tiny speck of yet-to-come Light and Love in Word.” Wonderful inspiration, creating new hope… just tiny speck…love it, Rose! xx
Mar 23, 2012 @ 02:35:28
So thrilled these lines were a source of bringing a speck of new hope into your day, Lauren. I can always count on you to pick out my own favorite lines!

“Wait, settle ye here, sit ye there, calm ye hearts and souls, dear critters…”
Good advice for all kinds of critters, methinks!
The tale continues with the wonderful expression of your pen and faith, Granbee!

Wow, Diane, such high compliments from such an accomplished poetess! Thank you! Yes, we would learn a great deal from these critters, right?
