20-Mar-12: 1 Corinthians 10:6-13

6 Now these things occurred as examples for us, so that we might not desire evil as they did. 7 Do not become idolaters as some of them did; as it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and they rose up to play.” 8 We must not indulge in sexual immorality as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand fell in a single day. 9 We must not put Christ to the test, as some of them did, and were destroyed by serpents. 10 And do not complain as some of them did, and were destroyed by the destroyer. 11 These things happened to them to serve as an example, and they were written down to instruct us, on whom the ends of the ages have come. 12 So if you think you are standing, watch out that you do not fall. 13 No testing has overtaken you that is not common to everyone. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it.

“……and are you SURE we have enough strength to stay together?”

“We tromp along, we stomp along, we flap along, we slap along”

sang the friends as they set off under the shadows of Old Crow and Ugly Bird.

“Weesie, beesie, keep up steady, be ever ready,”whistled Bluesey Fly in song.

So did the ever-more bonded and binded critterfolk creep ever up with Babe’s word.

“Ohsie, oopsie, we getsies weaksies! We starts to pull away from each other!”

So cried the friends up to Old Crow in query of worry, in wrinkely crinkles of doubt.

“Stop! Halt! Breathe! Hold out one hand!  Look up, look higher than thy brother!”

So did friends find a glow warming them back together, in bonds of such great klout!

Ohhhh, this line is just wonderful:

“Stop! Halt! Breathe! Hold out one hand! Look up, look higher than thy brother!”

You cease the rhythmic language to make such a profound statement and then ‘warm’ it back again with the last line!! Divine, dear friend!

With regards to that line, what a concept of personal and global truth there is in it.

Angela, love the way you pick up on my change of voice personnae there to express what I considered, as you do, a totally vital message in this post. I will do that more and more as these critterfolk mature in their souls on this journey. Bless you, Angela, for your enthusiastic support here.

There are days I use this as a daily reminder to myself …

Your characters delightful remind me of this promise!

Becca, don’t we ALL have days when we feel called upon to utilize every last ounce of our strength–and then we must feed upon His strength to finish that day’s “race”, right? Bless you for your sisterhood on this journey, Becca!

Loved this first line, after the great question:

“We tromp along, we stomp along, we flap along, we slap along”…

    Wonderful imagery. How true! 🙂

That first line describes exactly how I start out each day! Glad to know there are others, you among them, you say? Bless you for noticing the message of putting this “slapping along” line right after the title about strength!

    Granbee

This is so full of strength and reassurance that the warm glow will be there if we carry on!

I need some “warm glow” after my horrible flu – it is still trying to keep me down but I am climbing out 🙂

    Much love xx

Well, we have been on the same thought train…unity in our diversity makes us stronger…So did friends find a glow warming them back together…like a jigsaw puzzle that is a beautiful picture when united. One particular piece looks beautiful but incomplete. ❤

Our Heavenly Father knows exactly what piece goes where, you know, Terri! Love this analogy you introduced of the jigsaw puzzle! Wonderful to be of the same thought train with you–how encouraging!

Rose! There is strength in numbers. Might makes right, even if the might is the meek who will eventually inherit everything.

Put enough of us meek critters together–and you have a MOST victorious army, Peter! You are SO right! Glad to see you back here (I know, I know, you though I had forgotten about you earlier in the week-but you see I DID catch up with you, dear man!)

Rose, I think this is one of my favorites, as you convey the message of staying together “in bonds of such great klout!” Unity as “We tromp along, we stomp along, we flap along, we slap along” Wonderful words of strength, once again! Hugs! xo
