Lenten Journey – Day 33
Biblical Scripture: Hebrews 5:5-10
Open Invitation to Join Terri from

25-Mar-12: Hebrews 5:5-10
also Christ did not glorify himself in becoming a high priest, but was appointed by the one who said to him,
“You are my Son,
today I have begotten you”;
6 as he says also in another place,
“You are a priest forever,
according to the order of Melchizedek.”
7 In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. 8 Although he was a Son, he learned obedience through what he suffered; 9 and having been made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him, 10 having been designated by God a high priest according to the order of Melchizedek.
“……and you say THE ONE HIGH PRIEST was sacrificed?”
Once down at that so clear stream all friends grinned a-beam,
Once bumbled and tumbled feetsies all cleansies critters sighed a-bye.
“Oh, now ye needs rest and think on quest, sing on quest of sweet dream,”
So did Old Crow and Ugly Bird and Bluesey Fly swarm to all in sigh.
“Now think of this thing, this one big thing, while ye rest, most crested.”
“Now ponder all yonder, way in the yonder of men’s killing the once-Babe, THE ONE!”
“What meanst, canst meanst, so mean ol’ winged ones?” cried friends so tested.
“Why, know ye not, ye be forever in dark shadow, dark bramble, if High Priest not so done!”

I am so thankful that the Lord came and sacrificed Himself…. this became the basis of His priesthood. But also with this sacrifice He brought an end to the entire OT sacrificial system. Thank the Lrod for His once and forever sacrifice.
Mar 27, 2012 @ 01:46:34
Yes, so VERY thankful are we in the Family of God for His once-and-for-all sacrifice!

Mar 27, 2012 @ 22:45:53
Old Crow looked to Ugly Bird and poor unloved Blue Fly and Old Crow sighed. Tis the saddest of saddest things, thoses that calles themselves human, thoses that thinkest themes better and wiser that us unworldly folks. The hunted they hounded they tried poor grown babe, the light of the world, the one the one true hope! They beatest him they hurted him ………. they didest worse, but I canst tell ye ye as time not right and the one with the pen the opener of eyes granbee tis she not I ( Old Crow ) that tells this tale. But know ye my beloved unworldly ones my darling folkes you are are kinder holier and near to the one one babe..Him than any “Beautiful” or so they think human! xxxx
Mar 27, 2012 @ 22:49:18
willowdot, you are SO amazing the way you plug right into this journey! What a high compliment to me and my scribblings here! Yes, the beloved unworldly ones, the critterlyfolk with all their oddities are the ones much nearer to Him! The people who think they are complete in and of themselves are the tones who slay Him over and over in spirit!
Mar 27, 2012 @ 22:54:14
That is so true granbee and I had forgotten all this and slipped far from the truth, your hand with the keyboard has caught up my collar and reminded me of the the truth and so that is why Old Crow keeps a yapping on your posts…thank you xxxxx
Mar 27, 2012 @ 22:56:04
Thanks so much for your quick response to my own response to you, dear willowdot! Keep watching the critters to learn even more, okay?
Mar 27, 2012 @ 22:57:50
yes okay with pleasure .
Mar 27, 2012 @ 22:59:37
And wear a straw hat, Queen Crow!
Mar 27, 2012 @ 23:02:18
😀 I have a straw hat!!
Mar 27, 2012 @ 23:11:32
Tie it on tightly and finish with your moulting, okay?
Mar 27, 2012 @ 23:16:13
I shall and I shall emerge the dove of light …not the holy ghost dove just one of his helpers!! if that is not too presumptuous
Mar 27, 2012 @ 23:19:51
willowdot, you are almost guaranteed to be a helper dove at least by the half-way point in our journey, sometime around Midsummer Night’s Eve, okay? Always great to look ahead and prepare one’s wardrobe, eh?
Mar 27, 2012 @ 23:16:50
oops have to go now mother in law arrived
Mar 27, 2012 @ 23:20:45
Is your mother-in-law the Dowager Empress Crow? (I’m sorry; I simply could NOT resist! You are SUCH a hoot and a caw, you know? Gotta luv ya!)
Mar 28, 2012 @ 04:01:51
OH! no she is most scary a 92yr old Raven! and she runs rings around me a poor crow!!
Mar 28, 2012 @ 04:04:57
A 92 year old Raven–Yikes! Do you think she could handle Stump Woman?
Mar 28, 2012 @ 04:07:35
with both hands and one leg tied behind her back she is not to be under estimated!! 😉
Mar 28, 2012 @ 04:09:27
Woo, willowdot–she sounds like my great-grandmother who ran three businesses through the age of 99, walked 3/4 mile the evening before she passed at the age of 102!
Apr 01, 2012 @ 09:33:33
“Now ponder all yonder, way in the yonder of men’s killing the once-Babe, THE ONE!”
As awful as it was that these men tortured and killed the Author of life, we would not have “life” without what was done in evil. They really did not kill Jesus, as only Jesus had the power to allow Himself to die of course.
Amazing how God always takes the bad and turns it into good isn’t it?
Bless you Rose as you write these colorful escapades!! I’m trying to catch up…
Greg
Apr 03, 2012 @ 02:23:50
Bless YOU, Brother Greg, for your heart-warming encouragement here! Yes, God always makes all things work together for the good of them that love the Lord!
Apr 02, 2012 @ 01:03:38
“Why, know ye not, ye be forever in dark shadow, dark bramble, if High Priest not so done!” Jesus is our true redeemer and your last line says it so perfectly. I am so thankful to not be in dark shadows and brambles forever! Blessings to you, my friend~xx
Apr 03, 2012 @ 02:24:40
Here, here–dear Sister Lauren–aren’t we indeed overjoyed to be out in the light, out of the shadows, out of the brambles in our spirits!
Apr 03, 2012 @ 04:38:20
God gives so much mercy, love, compassion and grace second by second … What a mind boggling blessing! Thank you ~~
Apr 03, 2012 @ 06:55:21
My mind is continually blown away daily during this Lenten Journey, Becca. We owe Terri A LOT, yes we do! Oh, let us join in prayer for her son.
