27-Mar-12: Acts 2:14-24

4 But Peter, standing with the eleven, raised his voice and addressed them, “Men of Judea and all who live in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to what I say. 15 Indeed, these are not drunk, as you suppose, for it is only nine o’clock in the morning. 16 No, this is what was spoken through the prophet Joel:

17 ‘In the last days it will be, God declares,

that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh,

and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

and your young men shall see visions,

and your old men shall dream dreams.

18 Even upon my slaves, both men and women,

in those days I will pour out my Spirit;

and they shall prophesy.

19 And I will show portents in the heaven above

and signs on the earth below,

blood, and fire, and smoky mist.

20 The sun shall be turned to darkness

and the moon to blood,

before the coming of the Lord’s great and glorious day.

21 Then everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.’

22 “You that are Israelites, listen to what I have to say: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with deeds of power, wonders, and signs that God did through him among you, as you yourselves know— 23 this man, handed over to you according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of those outside the law. 24 But God raised him up, having freed him from death, because it was impossible for him to be held in its power.

“……and you say they are dancing and jabbering because of the LIGHT?

“Merriwe we uns rollsees alongsees and we jumpsees and skipsees.”

So did friends climb on and on, reeling and rocking in utmost glee.

Tootsies, wootsies, we uns so feelin’ in bootsies, no ripsees.”

So did critterly folk wake up sleeping bugs and creepings in scree.

“What mean ye, ye blasting critters?” called out the boatman below.

“What mean ye, bringing such a row to this peaceful place? “crumbled the frycook in smoke.

“Why, hush ye, stop thee, most blinded lake folk,” screeched out Old Crow.

“Ye see most blessed friends all washed in Holy Ghost, inside and out in a stroke.”

Sorry, Claudia–it is the CRITTERS themselves who have been washed and baptized with the Holy Spirit–and is the critters who are now immune from the nay-sayers, those folk down at the lakeside looking on!

Rose! I like the subversive nature of the critters here. It is only by screaming that we get heard through the din.

What could be better than to be washed in the Holy Spirit and Baptized as a child of God? Beautifully enchanting again! I need to come up with some new synonyms! Hugs and Blessings, Rose!

It has been so long since I have seen a reference to the Holy Ghost … and in so many ways I miss the term … your characters are delightfully powerful and playful this day! Swept up in THE Love and Light!! 😀

Down south, as you know, Becca, we just rejoice when we see someone “with the Holy Ghost” and “spirit-filled”. I must admit, I do enjoy playing and frolicking with these critters, in the sheer joy of the Spirit!
