“……and you say those lakefolk will never go with us?”

28-Mar-12: John 12:34-50

34 The crowd answered him, “We have heard from the law that the Messiah remains forever. How can you say that the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?” 35 Jesus said to them, “The light is with you for a little longer. Walk while you have the light, so that the darkness may not overtake you. If you walk in the darkness, you do not know where you are going. 36 While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become children of light.”

After Jesus had said this, he departed and hid from them. 37 Although he had performed so many signs in their presence, they did not believe in him. 38 This was to fulfill the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah:

“Lord, who has believed our message,

and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”

39 And so they could not believe, because Isaiah also said,

40 “He has blinded their eyes

and hardened their heart,

so that they might not look with their eyes,

and understand with their heart and turn—

and I would heal them.”

41 Isaiah said this because he saw his glory and spoke about him. 42 Nevertheless many, even of the authorities, believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they did not confess it, for fear that they would be put out of the synagogue; 43 for they loved human glory more than the glory that comes from God.

44 Then Jesus cried aloud: “Whoever believes in me believes not in me but in him who sent me. 45 And whoever sees me sees him who sent me. 46 I have come as light into the world, so that everyone who believes in me should not remain in the darkness. 47 I do not judge anyone who hears my words and does not keep them, for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. 48 The one who rejects me and does not receive my word has a judge; on the last day the word that I have spoken will serve as judge, 49 for I have not spoken on my own, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment about what to say and what to speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I speak, therefore, I speak just as the Father has told me.”

“……and you say those lakefolk will never go with us?”

“Oh, woopee, soupee, loopee!  Weuns has de light, de light, de light on fire.”

“Nowsee, bowsee, rousee!  Weuns dancies into light and brings dem all along!”

“Oh no, dear friends!  Do ye not seem those lakefolk turn back into dark so dire?”

“Do ye not know THE ONE told they would turn from light with no tag a long?”

One of the saddest occurances today is seeing someone who is overtaken by darkness not being willing to come to the light of the Lord Jesus Christ. For those of us who are saved, we understand what a wonderful privilege it is to come to accept and follow the light of Christ.

Why do we not come to the light? Because we are under the bondage of sin and blinded by Satan from the truth. Thank the Lord for opening up our blinded eyes and bringing His people to Himself!

    Great posting, Granbee!

Pastor Rob, you honor my “writings” here so very much with your wonderful affirmation of the truth-telling they bring. Let us continue on our knees together for more and more to chose to come into the Light of Christ!

The light draws us inexorably out of infinite love for us, doesn’t it? We can do no other than love the light if we love the Source!

Short but filled with powerful punch … such sad energy to feel and/or sense one who is so entrenched in not seeing the Light or receptive to the most important alternative and only path. 😦

I realized, Becca, I wanted to keep this one short and not dwell on those lakefolk who chose to stay below in the shadows and get left out! Nuff said!
