1-Apr-12: Philippians 2:5-11

5 Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus,

6 who, though he was in the form of God,

did not regard equality with God

as something to be exploited,

7 but emptied himself,

taking the form of a slave,

being born in human likeness.

And being found in human form,

8 he humbled himself

and became obedient to the point of death—

even death on a cross.

9 Therefore God also highly exalted him

and gave him the name

that is above every name,

10 so that at the name of Jesus

every knee should bend,

in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

11 and every tongue should confess

that Jesus Christ is Lord,

to the glory of God the Father.

“……and you say we must bow down in order to be higher?”

So friends all circled round to sup and sip and dup and dip all fusty and dusty.

So critters and unfolksies sat and plopped and popped berries and nuts alike.

When just from out a big cracked rock crawled the ragged one all musty.

“Oh, kneel with me, serve with me, lower ye selves with me such lowly tyke.”

“What keens ye, what means ye, now heal-led crawler so smalling?

“We ‘uns ready to serve, ready to help, we need not go lower–no, no!”

“Ah, but do ye not know,”cried Raggedy”, that we must be like Him in calling!”

“We must kneel and serve all bowed down, iffen we be raised High with Him to glow!”

Well, Sue, I am always anxious to show the imperfections and foibles of our critterly friends, in order to accurately reflect how we ourselves bumble and stumble upward into the light!

In the kingdom of the Lord…. humility is the key to being rewarded and promoted… Our faithfulness in the task we’ve been given, no matter how small it may be is the key to pleasing and glorifiying Him in our lives. Great posting thank you.

Yes, it is our task to glorify Him with our lives, with our service. We most often can do this by serving each other! Bless you for your ongoing support, Pastor Rob!

“So friends all circled round to sup and sip and dup and dip all fusty and dusty”
How do you come up with words like the above? Humbleness no matter how high or low one is in the chain of life…That trait shines..

Bless, you dearest Savy, for noting this shining aspect of humility! About those words: my maternal grandmother is all to blame with her never-ending family entertainments with her invented sub-language sets! I actually think this tendency to word-inventino is in my DNA! Glad you are enjoying these posts, Savy. I just LOVE your “reflections!”

They sat at supper and think themselves good and uperty loftilly almost looking down on the others! The Old raggy one saw the truth, Kneel with me and pray with me we must be lowly we must be humble we must be as He the One. we must be lowly to be blessed! ………Old Crow nodded knowing the Raggy one was right!

We must be like Him in calling, how true…how hard.
